Qualifications

To become an official requires a minimum number of conditions. You must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate or holder of a G.E.D. You must be in adequate physical condition and possess a history of integrity, respect, and professionalism. You must consent and pass the GHSA Background Check policy and Georgia E-Verify laws.

Expenses and Fees

First year expenses for uniforms will be between $200.00 to $250.00. 
LFOA Association Membership Dues: $70.00.
GHSA Registration Fee: $32.00 Includes all training manuals, accident & liability insurance.
GHSA Gate pass for and GHSA Games can be purchased for $20.00.

In most cases, officials have the opportunity to make more than enough money in game fees to cover their first year registration and uniform expenses. 

*New for 2024:*

The Arthur Blank Foundation has graciously awarded a $50,000 grant to the GHSA. $350 of that grant money will be given to each new official that signs up and successfully completes at least 1 game. This money can be used towards uniform expenses and membership dues.
